Stairs ? Who needs 'em.

Did you notice and/or remember how NASTY our stairs were? Well, we didn't like them either. These images show how we celebrated xmas 2008.

Santa brought us a sweet light fixture! He hid it inside the wall, where else?

Lower Level- PART2

This photo series chronicles the "sliding door at stairs" portion of the plan [see earlier post]. Similar to the Linen Closet, the actual sliding door is yet to come. The bookcases
are custom built from 13-ply poplar plywood. The future TV cabinet will be built to match.

Lower Level- PART 1

Okay, this dates back to around Thanksgiving. It's a two-pronged attacked on out downstairs Family Room. The big goal is to keep the house more consistently warm. Prong one: make provisions for a future pellet stove near the existing chimney. Prong two: provide a sliding door at the stairs to help keep heat in the lower level.
Still to come here: sliding door over Linen Closet and Cabinet over TV. Note, what was once a storage niche in the Family Room became Deep Storage, accessed thru the extra bedroom.

ALL RIGHT!
It has been a loong time coming, prepare your selves for "the BIG blog update"!!
Now that the dark moistness of the Seattle winter has descended upon us we're finally going to get you caught up [if there is anyone out there still checking our neglected little blog]. Stay tuned...

SA part4

Jess, Trevor, Ben and Kaela were living in South Africa for a year, so we went to visit for two weeks. It was late September and early October, in other words: spring. Incredible.
